This was required text for a graduate course in Instructional Design and even if I had not been taking this course, I would still recommend this text simply because of the detail it provides and step-by-step method it uses to teach Instructional Design. If you are a new instructor looking for a text to help guide you through the design of a course, or already a designer looking for a desk reference to help with keeping everything in perspective or making explaining what you mean to others simpler, this text is definitely worth the purchase.
