Sense and sensibility quqrtet rest in peace. So I put away my Quinn books and summed this up to a “phase” never to be revisited again. That undefinable thing that makes her novels so easy to fall into.

It was such a lovely read for me too! But when the pair is forced to spend a week in close company, they discover that first impressions are not always reliable. This is where the nail-biting part of the story starts.
Anne Wynter might not be who she says she is They’ll make me be a prostitute probably, and then I’ll die. I completely fell for Daniel’s charm and wicked sense of humour. He made me remember of Gregory Bridgerton. It is said that his mother has not batted so much as an eyelash when he announces that he plans to marry Miss Wynter, the governess.

Impressions of a Reader Review: A Night Like This (Smythe-Smith #2) by Julia Quinn
Still the ending did pick up the pace and gained a extra star in my overall rating. Now we have to read the next book. Her job can be a challenge—in a single week she finds herself hiding in a closet full of tubas, playing an evil queen in a play that might be a tragedy or might be a comedy—no one is sureand tending to the wounds of the oh-so-dashing Earl of Winstead.
She never takes anything for granted but appreciates the stability, position and self-respect she has working as a governess for the Pleinsworths.
It’s as if Anne is living in a traditional historical, but Daniel is living in a wallpaper historical sometimes. Anne Wynter has been haunted as well for the past eight years. I really liked their acrimonious relationship and how it moved into a friendship, then more.
But Daniel has an enemy, one who has vowed to see him dead. Everything didn’t work for me. I spent the entire time reading this book, at least if you look at my status updates, noting to myself and others that I wanted to DNF the book after every page or every other page.
